Josie Bissett - Stem Cell Treatment Experience in Costa Rica
How beautiful is Costa Rica? Let’s just throw that out there first! Hello, I’m Josie Vit, and I’m from Seattle, Washington. Today, I’m here in beautiful Escazú, Costa Rica. This is the building where Celebration Wellness is located, and where I’ll be getting my stem cell therapy.
I’ve been dealing with back issues for about three years, and it seemed to come out of nowhere. I had never experienced back problems before. While working on a film, things escalated to the point where I couldn’t walk. This was during quarantine, and when I consulted a surgeon, I was told I needed a spinal fusion. That news was shocking—I had never dealt with anything like that before. Over the last three years, the pain has progressively worsened.
I wanted to explore every natural option before resorting to surgery. Stem cell therapy seemed like a great, non-invasive solution. I’ve tried everything—functional medicine doctors, chiropractors, massage therapy, heat and ice therapy, and even steroid injections. Despite all those efforts, the back and hip pain persisted, which is what ultimately brought me here.
The experience of getting here was lovely. Tim, the CEO of Celebration Wellness, personally picked me up and brought me to my hotel. Everything—the facility, the hotel, the location—was beautiful and convenient. It felt like I didn’t need to go anywhere else.
We started with neural therapy, which involves small injections into areas of scar tissue or trauma—even tattoos. This helps break up fibrous tissue, allowing the stem cells to reach the areas they need to without obstruction. After neural therapy, I received a nutrient IV drip containing vitamins C and B.
The hyperbaric chamber sessions were amazing! They help reduce inflammation and prepare your body for the stem cells, ensuring minimal inflammation when the cells are introduced. After traveling and dealing with chronic injuries, inflammation is always present, so the sessions were incredibly helpful. Plus, it was a peaceful experience—almost an hour of relaxation, which was lovely.
When it was time for the stem cell therapy itself, I’ll never forget the moment they brought in the bag of stem cells. It was incredible to think about—millions of living cells, ready to help my body heal. They are kept at body temperature and handled with great care in the lab, which is phenomenal. The lab does all the preparation, ensuring the stem cells are in optimal condition before entering your body.
The stem cells were administered intravenously, and we also did targeted injections in my lower back, hips, knees, neck, and ankle—the primary areas where I’ve been experiencing pain. Typically, my morning pain level is at a 10, and it’s so bad that I can’t start my day without taking Advil immediately, which I hate because it’s hard on the body. This morning, though, I sat up and thought, "No way!" I was in disbelief, but my pain level was around a three, and it stayed that way all day. I kept waiting for the pain to come back, but it didn’t.
Not only would I recommend this treatment, but I already have! I’ve been on the phone telling everyone I know—especially my parents and friends who’ve been dealing with chronic ailments. Knowing how much this has helped me, I want everyone to feel better.
So, that’s my story of stem cell therapy, and I can confidently say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
One important thing to mention is that this isn’t magic—it’s about helping your body heal itself. There are specific steps to take before coming, and there’s a personalized path to healing here. The goal is to improve your quality of life and longevity. In Costa Rica, there’s this concept called “pura vida,” meaning "pure life." It’s all about taking stress away and embracing a natural, healthy lifestyle. You can see it in the organic foods, the stunning mountains, and the peaceful way of life.
There’s also something we refer to as perita, which means “pure life.” It’s about going with the flow, relieving stress, and knowing everything is going to be okay. You’ve already experienced some of that through the organic foods, the beautiful mountains, and soon we’ll visit some of the beaches. We’re so happy to have you with us! We want you to be part of our team and to be one of the trailblazers in this industry because you believe in it.
That’s the reason we got into this—to help people and to show them that there is a different way to treat the body, and that the results speak for themselves. We’re here to help people heal, to improve their longevity, and to provide therapies that will allow them to live better, longer lives. We’re thrilled that you’re on board with us, and we look forward to working with you on future adventures.
Thank you so much!
